Hi Joe,
Pam and I have a thank you to share. If you would; please forward this to all those involved in our home building process. We sure would appreciate it.
This home was very important to us, you see we our building a home we plan to live in for the rest of our lives and we hope to pass it down for generations to come. The land our home was built on has been in the family for generations and it holds a lot of family history. At one time: a one room school house resided on the land and eventually the old school house was used as our great grandparents home. Neat huh!
When we began the process of looking for a builder, we checked out so many I don't think we could remember all of them. We spent five or six years doing this; it may have been the most difficult part. We came across the Web site of Granite Ridge Builders and were impressed with all that was offered. Shortly there after; we went to an open house held during the spring of 2008. This is where Pam and I met Joe. I want to note the professionalism was outstanding; and this remained true throughout the entire building process. Not only with Joe, but with all of those involved. However it didn't stop there; it was the combination of professionalism mixed with a personal touch that made things so perfect.
After the open house; Pam and I called Joe. We all sat down and started making plans and we were very happy to meet Lucian. Lucian your the best; awesome job! We can't image the patients it would take to do your work. Once we had a print in place we were ready but not certain, we were wondering if things would look the way we imagined. I am happy to say they do. So then the process begins.
We had to call Amber a few times; the fickle people we are, to make a few changes that were after thoughts. Thank you Amber! Those last few touches put things over the top. Fairly soon we met with Wanda; what a delight! Wanda you made things so easy, the art it takes to make things blend together just right is a skill neither my wife nor I possess. Everything flows so well in our home; it already feels like home, and we have not even moved in yet.
Then it was time to get permits. Oh the politics and red tape, I am not sure how you do it everyday Diane. Trust me the Huntington County Courthouse is not a place you want spend your time. Thank you for pushing through all the paper work getting all those forms and signatures. WOW!
Before you know it the exciting day of ground breaking was here. We met with Dean; and what a pleasant experience. The coordination it would take to oversee all the details must be difficult. All things seemed to happen in a natural occurrence it was great. There was the questions and concerns we had from time to time and we found the perfect person to turn to; Cheryl.
Cheryl we imagine your job is usually thankless; we hope we are wrong about that, but we want to be sure to give you a big THANK YOU! All the times we called with concerns; you kept your calm, proceeded with a solution to the situation and everything turned out perfect. Thanks again!
Finally we are here, Pam I met with Joe, Brad and Tara for our final walk through. What a great experience! Brad; we only talked on a handful of occasions, but you have picked a wonderful team of people to surround yourself with, job well done. Again Joe; thanks! And Tara thank you so very much, we were a little nervous about the walk through, but it about 10 seconds the nerves were gone. Great job!
We truly and sincerely apologize for anyone not mentioned. Many of whom we did not get the opportunity to meet and all of you working behind the scenes. Thank you! We met so few of the crews and workers; but be aware we were watching so carefully from a distance. We only live a few miles from our new home and we drove by daily. Not once! did we suspect any crew or person not working their hardest to get things done. Amazing! because we really watched for that, and that would have been one thing we would be very critical of, thanks to all.
So many times in life; the dedication and hard work it takes to be successful goes unmentioned and unnoticed. It's a shame, but it is true. I know it is not much to offer, but Pam and I want to say THANK YOU! Our new home is beautiful. I hope you understand how nervous we were to begin. As stated above we needed to get this done right; this is the home we plan to live in forever (God willing); and we hope to pass it along to our children.
Thank you Granite Ridge; you got it done right!
